History

The law offices of Cohen and Jacobson (formerly Shapro, Anixter, and Aronson) has emphasized commercial litigation, business reorganization, Chapter 11 proceedings, and representation of all parties involved in bankruptcy cases for over 40 years. The firm, established in 1957, was reconstituted in 1979 as Cohen and Jacobson.

The firm represents clients throughout the process of resolution of business disputes in litigation and insolvency proceedings. In litigation, the firm provides full litigation resources and experience for resolution through mediation or other alternative dispute resolution, or through trial in the State and the Federal Courts. In matters involving financial distress, the firm provides representation in non-judicial restructuring of the financial affairs of individuals and entities, and representation to debtors, creditors, committees of creditors, landlords and other parties in interest in bankruptcy cases.

Cohen and Jacobson, LLP, actively practices in the Superior Courts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central Valley, and the Monterey Peninsula, including the Superior Courts of the Counties of San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda, Monterey, and San Benito, and the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts in the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.

The firm holds an “A V” rating, the highest rating attainable, from Martindale-Hubbell.
